During evolution, we “simply” lost some enzymes required for their synthesis. Observations made before 1900: Nutritional deprivation caused corneal ulcers, blindness, and high mortality. Also, an unknown substance present in milk and egg yolk is essential for nutrition. In the early 20th century it was found that this unknown substance was fat soluble. For those of you that enjoyed our bonus Pullulan Nose Mask, here is a recipe for you to make a similar product yourself. The recipe below is for 1 oz (30 ml) of the mask. If you would like to adjust the size of this recipe, it should be 25% pullulan in water. The sodium PCA is optional but it will add moisture to the formula. Ingredients: 30 ml Distilled water 7.5 g Pullulan 0.5 ml Sodium PCA (optional) 0.3 ml Germaben II (preservative) Notes: *Add the preservative and sodium PCA to the distilled water and mix before adding the pullulan powder. *Allow the pullulan to sit in the water overnight.…

I keep coming back to this subject in our newsletters. Why? Probably half of the emails I receive have to do with pores: blocked pores, or large pores, or ugly, etc. It seems that we, women, are obsessed with pores. This is not surprising. Photography tricks, including sophisticated lighting and editing with Photoshop has convinced women that they can have baby smooth skin. We can’t.
