Polyphenols come in all kinds of shapes and from very different plants. They need antioxidants just as we do. For some tasty polyphenols have a beer Let me tell you about hops, a critical ingredient of beer for many centuries. Before hops, beer didn’t taste “right” and did not last very long before going bad. What is so special about hops? The “common” hops plant is a very uncommon factory of beneficial phytochemicals, some of them unique to hops. Those “miracle” natural substances that people have been using for centuries or even millennia are useful because of the chemicals they contain. Sometimes, the stories are not true and there is nothing beneficial in those false miracle products. But when they effectively treat a human (or animal) condition, biochemists and phytochemists will work hard to identify the chemicals that confer the natural substance its power. The process is hard and time-consuming, but eventually, we find the key chemical. Sometimes, there is more than just one active chemical, like it’s the case of tea leaves (EGCG, caffeine). It gets even more interesting when the biochemist finds the mechanism of action. Finding…

T-zone serum is a typical Skin Actives product: complex and different from everything else in the market. The secret is in the ingredients, the way it should be. The actives in T-Zone serum: Seakelp (Lactobacillus/Kelp Ferment Filtrate) Bioferment, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Epigallocatechin Gallate, Niacinamide, Nobiletin, Fucoidan, Porphyridium Polysaccharide, Arthrospira Extract. Arthrospira (Sprirulina) platensis extract contains phycocyanin and other actives that enhance cell proliferation and promote wound repair. Oxidation and aging When it comes to skin aging, there are two main culprits: UV light and oxidants. Much of the damage caused by UV light happens through reactive oxygen species (ROS*), so ROS* are key to skin aging and health. [Reactive oxygen species, ROS*, are chemically reactive molecules containing oxygen.]
