The effects of the Covid pandemic on those of us who didn’t get infected.
What happened to our bodies after more than two years of a pandemic? Covid 19 took so much away from us (and it keeps taking).
I am thankful that with the aid of vaccines and boosters, hundreds of masks, and a lot of luck, I managed to avoid (so far) this terrible illness that killed one million Americans and countless others worldwide.
Some things have changed: I am now less enthusiastic about kissing and hugging acquaintances. I am (still) wearing a mask to the supermarket (I am in that age group) and haven’t been to a party or the movies.
I also have a couple of what superficially may seem like minor problems: achy feet and a right upper eyelid that doesn’t look right. Why? Sitting around and in front of the computer wearing slippers is not suitable for the feet. I now wear compression socks and good shoes and work with a trainer thrice a week. My feet are doing better, and I don’t go around saying “ouch” all the time.
What about my right upper eyelid? I have always been lazy about skincare (I know, shameful, especially when I see the price of being lazy). Fortunately, I have good collagen and lipid serums, and I know these two miracle workers will help. My dry skin, resulting from the hot Arizona Summer plus non-stop air conditioning, is already feeling better after a few drops of ELS. I keep it on my desk, so I apply it to my face whenever my skin feels uncomfortably itchy or tight.
Why do these two products work at restoring elasticity? First of all, they provide nutrition, and with nutrients available, the epidermal growth factor (EGF) in the collagen serum will be able to do its job. There is a lot more than nutrition and EGF in these two products, and they work synergistically: antioxidants, “waking up” skin stem cells, promoters of synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid, and much more.
I used to think it would take months to see a visible change in skin that had been ignored for years, but it isn’t. And don’t go for the “quick fixes”: strong peels and Botox may give instant results but will not improve the health of the skin, and soon your face will look even more tired than it was before the rough treatments. Plus, these days you need to be able to smile, because smiling will help everybody feel better, including you.
With good skin care, your skin will feel more comfortable and start looking better instantly. Give it a couple of weeks, and your eyelids will look better, too.
Whatever your age, good skin care products can help you feel and look better. But you must use them; forgetting them in the fridge doesn’t work.
