Armani Crema Nera. Will it “supremely revive your skin”?

No, but your pocket will need reviving! Because to get it you will have to pay $250 for 1 oz., 30 grams, of a very plain moisturizing cream.

Will the Resurrection plant resurrect your skin?

No. Myrothamnus flabellifolius is a plant that has a peculiar way of avoiding drought (lack of water) and the light and oxidative stress that comes with water loss.  In dry weather, it will lose leaves shrink and and “die,” but, come rainfall, it undergoes a rapid transformation, becoming metabolically active again. It can also maintain all its photosynthetic apparatus and chlorophyll throughout all phases of life.  The plant extract will do nothing for you unless you are a plant. But the advertising people at Armani are taking advantage of the fact that many people forgot to study Biology and tend to think that expensive products must be good.

Just in case you were wondering (I was!), the cream is white—no idea why they call it Crema Nera (but remember Franco Nero?).

Don’t fall into advertising traps. Study Biology!

You can find nice moisturizing creams in Skin Actives. Just one example: Moisturizing cream with ROS Bionet and apocynin.

We don’t add fragrances (like Linalool, Geraniol, Alpha-isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, etc.) because many are allergenic for a good fraction of the human population. We don’t use denatured alcohol, a solvent with no benefits except for its low price.
